"I've been through probably thirty umbrellas in my life. Then I bought a Stormwall Pro in 2016. I still have it. I will be buried with it."

"Survived a Melbourne southerly that turned my previous umbrella inside-out in about two seconds. The Stormwall didn't even flinch."

IRONVEIL
Who we are

We got tired of
losing umbrellas
to the first gust.

Our mission

End the cycle of
disposable rain gear.

Ironveil was founded in 2009 by two engineers who were fed up. Every year, over 1 billion umbrellas are manufactured worldwide. The vast majority end up in landfill within 18 months — snapped shafts, inside-out canopies, bent ribs.

We believed — and still believe — that a well-engineered umbrella should last a lifetime. Not because we say so, but because we build it that way and back it up with a real warranty.

"Buy once, buy right. The rest is just weather."

Our entire product line is designed around a single principle: if it fails for any reason, we fix it or replace it. No forms, no fine print, no runaround.

Our values
⚙️
Engineering first
Every decision starts with function. We prototype. We test. We wind-tunnel. We iterate.
♻️
Zero landfill
All returned umbrellas are repaired, refurbished, or donated. We've sent zero units to landfill since 2017.
🤝
Radical honesty
We tell you exactly what our umbrellas can and can't do. No marketing fluff. No fake specs.
🌏
Local sourcing
Shafts cut in Victoria. Handles finished in NSW. Canopies from Taiwanese mills with living wages.
What they're made of

Materials that earn
their place.

01
6061-T6 Aluminium
The same alloy used in aircraft fuselages and bicycle frames. Lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and engineered for flex without fatigue.
02
210T Ripstop Nylon
3000mm hydrostatic head rating. That means it stops water even under pressure. Ripstop weave prevents small tears from spreading into big ones.
03
Fibreglass Ribs
On our storm range. Fibreglass flexes under wind load and springs back — where steel ribs bend permanently, ours return to true every time.
04
Full-Grain Leather
On the Executive Slim. Vegetable-tanned, Australian-sourced. Develops a patina with age. The handle should outlast the umbrella.
05
Stainless Ferrule
316 marine-grade stainless on every model. It's overkill, and that's the point. It will never rust, even left wet in a bag for a week.
06
Silicone Grip Tape
Compression-moulded, UV-stable silicone on shaft grips. Stays grippy when wet. Doesn't degrade or peel after two years in the sun.

Declan Marsh
Co-Founder · Head of Engineering
Former aerospace materials engineer. Spent 8 years at CSIRO before deciding umbrellas were more interesting than satellites. Responsible for every structural decision we make.
👩‍💼
Yuki Tanaka

The Ironveil Promise

Lifetime Warranty.
No asterisk.

Every Ironveil comes with a lifetime warranty that covers everything — manufacturing defects, storm damage, and yes, even if you sat on it.

What's covered

Everything. That's it.

We don't carve out exceptions. If your Ironveil fails — for any reason — we'll fix or replace it. Here's what that looks like in practice.

💨
Storm Damage
Wind inverted it, ribs bent, canopy torn. Send it back. We'll fix it or ship a new one within 5 business days.
🔩
Mechanical Failure
Springs, runner, ferrule, shaft. If any part fails from normal use, it's covered. No wear-and-tear exclusions.
🪡
Fabric & Stitching
Seams split, canopy faded, waterproofing degraded. All covered. We re-seam and re-coat as needed.
🦴
Accidental Damage
Someone stepped on it. A car door got it. You sat on it. We've heard them all. Still covered.
🔄
Second Owner
Bought it secondhand? Warranty transfers with the umbrella. Register the new owner and you're covered.
🌏
International Claims
Claim from anywhere in the world. We cover shipping both ways on all warranty returns.
